This four-hour tour invites visitors to see the historical sites of Gqeberha from the arrival of the Portuguese in 1488 to the landing of the 1820 British Settlers. Along the way, we visit Fort Frederick (which was built in 1799 by the British and promises stunning views of Algoa Bay and the harbour), the Donkin Reserve (a historical site that was recently revamped to make it an exciting, multi-faceted attraction for young and old), Market Square, fascinating architecture and modern-day Gqeberha whilst sharing stories from the past. Each of these attractions makes up a part of the ever-evolving city of Gqeberha, and offers its own charm and intrigue.

Gqeberha is known for its stunning beaches and smiling faces, and visitors from all over the world are invited to be a part of the Friendly City’s hospitality as they learn more about its history and heritage.

Customised day tours and overnight tours in the Eastern Cape and along the Graden Route are available on request.
